Six of Alabama’s commits competed against one another in a nationally televised game between Thompson (AL) and Hewitt-Trussville (AL) last Friday. Led by Taulia Tagovailoa, Thompson overcame Hewitt-Trussville in a 63-49 shoot-out.

2019 Class

5-star offensive tackle Pierce Quick was spotlighted in Hewitt-Trussville’s (AL) loss to Thompson (AL).

4-star offensive tackle Amari Kight helped Thompson storm back from a 28-0 deficit in its win over Hewitt-Trussville.

4-star quarterback Paul Tyson was 14-of-23 passing for 275 yards and three touchdowns in Hewitt-Trussville’s loss. Tyson also threw an interception.

4-star quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa nearly mirrored Tyson’s passing production, completing 14 of his 23 attempts for 264 yards and two touchdowns with an interception. Tagovailoa was a difference maker on the ground as well, rushing for 152 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries.

4-star wide receiver John Metchie showed his versatility in The Peddie School’s (NJ) 21-16 loss to The Hun School of Princeton (NJ). Metchie caught three passes for 46 yards and ran for a touchdown.

4-star defensive end Antonio Alfano racked up six sacks, seven tackles for a loss, four quarterback hurries and nine pancakes in Colonia’s (NJ) 27-12 win over Woodbridge (NJ).

4-star cornerback Christian Williams continued to make an impact all over the field in Daphne’s (AL) 28-24 loss to St. Paul’s (AL). Williams caught four passes for 44 yards and a touchdown while running for 16 yards on eight carries. He also had an interception.

4-star athlete Brandon Turnage┬áturned a reception into a 75-yard touchdown in Lafayette’s (MS) 24-21 loss to Olive Branch (MS).

3-star kicker Will Reichard┬ánailed a 33-yard field goal in Hoover’s (AL) 31-7 win over Mt. Brook (AL).

4-star tight end Jahleel Billinglsey took over at quarterback for Phillips Academy (IL), running its wildcat offense in a 30-24 win over Forest Lake (IL). Billingsley compiled 152 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries.

4-star safety DeMarcco Hellams had no stats available. DeMatha Catholic (MD) fell 13-7 to St. John’s College High School (Washington D.C.).

4-star defensive end Byron Young and West Jones (MS) dominated Wingfield (MS) 45-0.

4-star outside linebacker King Mwikuta and Troup County (GA) beat Central (GA) 49-27.

4-star defensive end Justin Eboigbe had no stats available in Forest Park’s (GA) 54-34 loss to Mundy’s Mill (GA).
