BATON ROUGE, La. — More media was credentialed for Saturday’s matchup between Alabama and LSU than any other game in Tiger Stadium history, LSU’s sports information director, Michael Bonnette, tweeted before kickoff. The press box was at full capacity, seating 165.
Twelve people represented eight of the 32 National Football League teams. The New Orleans Saints, Buffalo Bills, Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles all sent at least one person. Saints general manager Mickey Loomis and Bills general manager Brandon Beane were both in attendance. There were three assistant general managers, too.
Six bowl games had representatives on hand: the Gator, Citrus, Fiesta, Peach, Orange and Sugar Bowls. The East-West Shrine Game also had someone there.
SEC commissioner Greg Sankey was at the game. Former LSU players Leonard Fournette, Tyrann Mathieu, Michael Clayton, Matt Flynn and several others attended the game. Actor Vince Vaughn was also spotted on the sidelines.
