Alabama shut out LSU 29-0 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, last Saturday in a game that was well attended by top recruits, including UA commit Taulia Tagovailoa. Those blue-chip prospects were visiting LSU, but the Crimson Tide is contending with the Tigers to land several of them.

The game in Death Valley wasn’t the only recruiting news for Alabama. The Crimson Tide lost two commitments and missed out on securing a pledge from one of the nation’s top running backs.

Alabama did not get 4-star all-purpose running back Wandale Robinson, who committed to Kentucky on Tuesday. The 5-foot-9, 179-pound speedster from the Bluegrass state chose the Wildcats over Alabama and Nebraska.

2019 defensive tackle Rashad Cheney backed off his commitment to Alabama, according to several reports. The 4-star prospect committed to the Crimson Tide in April after backing off of his previous commitment to Georgia in January.

Despite the decommitment from Cheney, Alabama still has five defensive linemen in the 2019 class and retains the No. 1 2019 class. It just drops to 21 commitments.

2020 defensive end Jordan Davis also backed off his pledge to the Crimson Tide on Saturday. Davis was originally a member of Alabama’s 2018 class but enrolled at Copiah-Lincoln Community College this season after not qualifying academically. He had recommitted to Alabama earlier in the fall.

Several other Alabama commits took to Twitter to celebrate Alabama’s victory over LSU.
