Alabama offensive lineman Joshua Casher was named to the 2018 Southeastern Conference Football Community Service team, the league announced Wednesday.
The SEC selects a community service team for each of its 12 league-sponsored sports. It’s meant to highlight athletes who give back to their communities.
Casher, a redshirt senior, is a three-time recipient of Alabama’s Derrick Thomas Community Service Award, given specifically to UA football players who help out in Tuscaloosa. Casher is originally from Mobile and played a big role in Alabama Athletics choosing the Alberta Head Start program as its Community Unit Project. He has dedicated more than 200 hours of his time to community service.
