Alabama’s senior class is now 54-3 in the last four years, becoming the winningest class in FBS history. It had previously been tied with Alabama’s 2017 seniors, who went 53-5 in their four-year careers. The Alabama seniors have won three conference championships and two national championships. They’ll reach their fourth College Football Playoff later this month and have the chance to win a third national championship.
Alabama set a new school record for offensive yards in a season on its game-winning touchdown drive. UA entered the day with 6,456 yards and posted 403 yards to finish the game with 6,859. The previous record of 6,829 yards was set in 2016.
Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts entered the day tied for second in school history with John Parker Wilson with 47 career touchdown passes. Each threw one touchdown pass, meaning they are now tied for second in school history with 48 touchdown passes. Wilson is now fourth in school history.
Jerry Jeudy caught his 12th touchdown pass of the season, moving him into sole possession of second place in the school record books. Amari Cooper caught 16 in 2014. Jeudy also moved into 17th place in school history with 1,367 receiving yards for his career. His 14 career touchdowns tie him for 8th in school history with Al Lary.
Safety Deionte Thompson entered the game with 97 tackles and recorded eight on the afternoon to surpass 100 for his career.
