Alabama center Ross Pierschbacher has been named one of three finalists for the Rimington Trophy. He is joined as a finalist by North Carolina State’s Garrett Bradbury and Notre Dame’s Sam Mustipher.

Pierschbacher transitioned to center this season after making 42 career starts at left guard in his first three years at UA. He’s helped pave the way for Alabama’s offense, which is second in the country in scoring and seventh in total offense. He landed Midseason All-American honors from the Associated Press and was on the Outland Trophy and Rimington Trophy watch lists. He earned SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week for his play at Arkansas and was named one of UA’s four permanent captains for this season.

The Rimington Trophy has been presented since 2000 to the outstanding center in NCAA Division I football. Barrett Jones (2012) and Ryan Kelly (2015) previously won the award for the Crimson Tide. The winner of the Rimington Trophy will be announced during the ESPNU Red Carpet Show on Thursday prior to the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show in Atlanta.
