The SEC Championship Game between Alabama and Georgia last weekend was the most-watched and highest-rated regular-season football game on any network in the last seven years, CBS announced Tuesday. It was also the second most-watched SEC title game ever, dating back to its debut in 1992. There were 17.5 million viewers who saw the Crimson Tide beat the Bulldogs, 35-28.
Also, “SEC on CBS” ended up being the highest-rated regular-season college football package on any network for the 10th year in a row. Six of Alabama’s games this season aired on CBS.
The Crimson Tide’s next game – the Orange Bowl – will be on ESPN on Dec. 29 at 7 p.m. CT.
