Alabama linebacker Josh McMillon, who was injured during Saturday’s scrimmage, will be out for “an indefinite period,” according to a statement from Alabama coach Nick Saban, which was released Monday afternoon.

“Josh McMillon suffered an injury to his right knee Saturday that will require surgery and keep him out for an indefinite period. We have a great medical staff here and he will have the full support of everyone in the organization as he goes through the rehab process. We are confident Josh will make a full recovery.”

McMillon, a senior, was working on having a bigger role for the 2019 season. He played in eight games as a sophomore in 2017 and played in 10 games last season, totaling 14 tackles and one tackle for a loss.
