As the University of Alabama football team warmed up for its 11 a.m. game against Southern Miss, two linebackers — starting outside linebacker Terrell Lewis and second-string inside linebacker Markail Benton — were not dressed out and participating. Both will miss the game.
Christopher Allen will start in Lewis’ place. At outside linebacker, UA will now have Allen alongside Anfernee Jennings with Ben Davis and King Mwikuta as reserves. Both are listed as reserves behind Jennings at Jack, leaving Allen as the only available Sam on the two-deep depth chart.
The freshman duo of Shane Lee and Christian Harris were the first two middle linebackers in warmups, ahead of Ale Kaho. With Benton out, UA will turn to Jaylen Moody as its reserve middle linebacker.
