The University of Alabama started its Monday football practice without the same list of players it ended Saturday’s game against Southern Miss missing.
– At outside linebacker, both Anfernee Jennings and Terrell Lewis were present but mostly not participating in drills. Lewis’ status was expected, going back to UA coach Nick Saban‘s comments both after the Southern Miss game and before Monday’s practice, but Jennings’s status is new information.

– Nose guard D.J. Dale and inside linebacker Markail Benton were in the same boat as Jennings and Lewis: present, but not doing much participating. Benton had a severe limp on his left side and some bandaging on the back of the left leg; Dale suffered a minor knee injury in the Southern Miss game, prompting him to miss the second half.
– Phidarian Mathis was the first-team nose guard in Dale’s place.
