– As you can see in the video below, the media viewing period of today’s practice contained a new defensive drill, one with Nickel packages pressuring and containing the quarterback. The twist: the scout team taking the snaps were wearing No. 2, that of Texas A&M wide receiver Jhamon Ausbon, suggesting Alabama is preparing for some Wildcat looks from the Aggies.

In that drill, the second-team Nickel front was Phidarian Mathis and Justin Eboigbe as the ends, Tevita Musika as the nose guard and Christopher Allen as the outside linebacker.
– On the offensive line, we got to see Landon Dickerson and Deonte Brown take reps beside one another as center and right guard, respectively, plus more reps of the Brown-Jedrick Wills Jr. right guard-right tackle combo we saw in yesterday’s viewing period. Chris Owens (knee) was present, but not participating in drills. Darrian Dalcourt remains the second-team center, with Emil Ekiyor Jr. to his left in one rep.
– Parker Barrineau was in attendance, a former UA receiver who played his final season in 2015.
