The University of Alabama coaching staff named six players of the week for the loss to LSU.

The two offensive players of the week were the obvious selections: running back Najee Harris and wide receiver DeVonta Smith. Harris tallied the fifth 100-yard game of his career, running 19 times for 146 yards, plus three catches for 44 yards. He scored once each way.

Smith caught seven passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns. It’s his second 200-yard game of the season, after the Ole Miss game.

The defensive honorees were Anfernee Jennings, Xavier McKinney and Jared Mayden. Jennings had two sacks and a quarterback pressure while McKinney’s 13 tackles led the team, 2 1/2 of them for a loss, to go with two sacks, a forced fumble and a quarterback hurry. Mayden’s 11 tackles were a new career high.

Jaylen Waddle’s 77-yard punt return for a touchdown earned him the special teams player of the week honor.
