The University of Alabama coaching staff named six players of the week from the 66-3 win over Western Carolina, with one player being honored twice.
Jaylen Waddle was both an offensive player of the week and the only special teams honoree. He caught three passes for 101 yards, his first 100-yard performance of the season, and returned two punts for 67 yards.
The other offensive honorees were Mac Jones and DeVonta Smith. Jones completed 10 of his 12 passes for 275 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 27.5 yards per completion; Smith caught four passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns.
The defensive honorees were Christian Barmore, Christian Harris and Xavier McKinney. Barmore, getting an increased workload in the absence of three prominent defensive linemen, tallied six tackles, one for a loss, 1/2 sack and a quarterback hurry. Harris had five tackles and a quarterback hurry, and McKinney forced a fumble, intercepted two passes and recorded three tackles, one of them for a loss.
