Alabama linebacker Joshua McMillon will be a sixth-year senior.
The NCAA approved his medical hardship waiver, commonly known as a medical redshirt, after he suffered a season-ending knee injury in preseason practice. McMillon was set to start at inside linebacker alongside Dylan Moses, who also suffered a season-ending knee injury before the season. UA was forced to put freshmen Shane Lee and Christian Harris in their places.
UA coach Nick Saban said earlier in the season he believed McMillon’s waiver had a good chance of being approved, at which point it would be up to McMillon if he wanted to return.
