The third commit to the University of Alabama football team’s 2021 recruiting class is the first from inside state lines.

Mobile Christian defensive end/outside linebacker Deontae Lawson tweeted his commitment to the Crimson Tide Friday night. He is a four-star in the 247 Sports Composite, rated as a top 10 prospect in the state and in the top 300 nationally. Lawson fielded offers from several Power 5 programs from multiple conference over the last few months before committing to UA.

The commitment comes a couple of weeks after UA signed 22 players to its 2020 recruiting class, and five days before the team plays Michigan in the Citrus Bowl.
