Alabama now has at least one non-conference football game against a Power 5 opponent scheduled for every year through 2035.

After UA went on a scheduling spree in October, the only gap in that time was 2030 and 2031, which it has filled with a home-and-home series with Georgia Tech. UA will visit the Yellow Jackets in 2030 and host Georgia Tech in 2031.

“The Crimson Tide and Yellow Jackets were regulars on each other’s calendars from 1902 to 1984, and we look forward to renewing the series between our two programs,” UA Director of Athletics Greg Byrne said in the UA statement confirming the scheduling.

UA now has two more neutral-site games booked, against USC in 2020 and Miami in 2021, before home-and-home series with Texas, Wisconsin, Florida State, West Virginia, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech occupy its schedule for the next 15 years.

“We are excited to announce the addition of another outstanding home-and-home series,” Alabama coach Nick Saban said. “Our administration has made it a point over the past several years to continue to improve our schedule and this is another great example. Georgia Tech and Alabama have a long history of great football games and we are looking forward to continuing that tradition.”

UA last met Georgia Tech in 1984. The two have met in football 52 times in football, but almost all of those meetings are in the 1960s or earlier, some as early as the 1900s.
