The University of Alabama football program received its fifth verbal commitment for its 2021 recruiting class on Friday as four-star safety Kaine Williams of John Ehret High School in Marrero, La., announced via social media that he has chosen the Crimson Tide over finalists LSU and Texas A&M.

Williams is rated a four-star prospect by 247 Sports, which projects him as the No. 6 prospect in talent-rich Louisiana and the No. 5 safety prospect in the country.
The Crimson Tide also has commitments from wide receiver Jacorey Brooks of Miami, wide receiver Agiye Hall of Valrico, Fla., linebacker Deontae Lawson of Mobile and defensive tackle Anquin Barnes of Montgomery.
Alabama has landed several top defensive recruits from Louisiana during Nick Saban’s tenure including All-Pro safety Landon Collins, linebackers Dylan Moses, Christian Harris and Chris Allen, defensive linemen Denzell Devall, Phidarian Mathis, Isaiah Buggs and Ish Sopsher and defensive backs Shyheim Carter and Eddie Smith.
