Alabama has added yet another front defender to its 2021 recruiting class.
Kendrick Blackshire, a four-star linebacker from Duncanville, Texas, committed to UA Tuesday night, choosing the Crimson Tide over other finalists LSU and Texas A&M. Blackshire is rated as the No. 7 inside linebacker in the nation in the 247 Sports Composite and a top 30 prospect in the state of Texas.
Seven of UA’s current 12 commitments in the 2021 class are wide receivers, linebackers or edge defenders. Joining Blackshire in the edge defender/linebacker roles are four-star Dallas Turner, four-star Deontae Lawson and outside linebacker Ian Jackson, the latter two being in-state prospects from Mobile Christian and Prattville, respectively.
If Blackshire follows through and enrolls at UA, it will be 10 consecutive recruiting classes that UA has pulled at least one player from Texas.
