Former Alabama Isaiah Buggs, a defensive lineman, was taken by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the sixth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday in Nashville, Tennessee.
At 6-foot-3, 330 pounds, Buggs was taken with the 20th pick in the sixth round and 192nd overall.

Buggs considered entering the 2018 NFL draft but chose to come back for his senior season. He was rewarded by a season that finished with him being named second-team All-SEC by the league coaches and media.
Buggs led the 2018 team and ranked fourth in the SEC with 9.5 sacks. He was third on the team with 13.5 tackles for loss and tied for eighth with 51 tackles. He also had six quarterback hurries. He had 3.5 sacks against Texas A&M and was named SEC player of the week.
Buggs transferred to Alabama from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in 2017. He played in all 14 games as a junior and finished the season with 51 tackles, four tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks as part of Alabama’s defensive line rotation.
