Former University of Alabama defensive players made a big impact in Week 10 of the NFL season this past weekend.
Defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick, who was traded from Miami to Pittsburgh after the second week of the season, has five interceptions in seven games with the Steelers, including one Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.
His biggest highlight was a 43-yard fumble recovery he returned for a touchdown to spark the Steelers. That score made Fitzpatrick the first Steelers defensive player with touchdowns in back-to-back games since 1984 (Sam Washington).
Linebacker Rashaan Evans came up big for Tennessee with seven tackles, two for a loss, and a 53-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown to lift the Titans past the Kansas City Chiefs.
With Seattle trailing 10-7 to the unbeaten San Francisco 49ers on Monday night, defensive lineman Jarran Reed gave the Seahawks life after forcing a fumble, which was returned for a touchdown. Reed also had 1.5 sacks and two quarterback hurries as the Seahawks won in overtime.
Former Crimson Tide players were busy on offense, too.
Receiver Amari Cooper hauled in 11 receptions for 147 yards and a touchdown against Minnesota. It wasn’t enough as the Vikings got the win.
Running back Derrick Henry ran wild against the Kansas City Chiefs, going for 188 yards on 23 carries with two touchdowns in the win.
Josh Jacobs scored the winning touchdown against the Los Angeles Chargers and rushed for 71 yards. Tight end O.J. Howard caught four passes for 47 yards with a touchdown in a win against Arizona.
