Alabama landed a commitment from one of the nation’s elite kickers in the 2019 class. The Crimson Tide didn’t even have to go very far to get it.

Hoover High School’s Will Reichard committed to Alabama on Wednesday morning. He announced his commitment in a post on Twitter.

“Bama Nation, I promise I will not let you down!” he wrote. “I am ready to step up to this challenge and change the culture of kickers at Alabama. God Bless and Roll Tide!”

Reichard is the No. 2 kicker for the 2019 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s also ranked as the No. 1 kicker in the nation by Chris Sailer Kicking and by Kohl’s Kicking.

He spent most of last season as Hoover’s punter and kickoff specialist. The Bucs had Nebraska football commit Barrett Pickering as their primary place kicker.

Reichard would arrive at Alabama after graduate transfer kicker Austin Jones exhausts his one remaining season of eligibility. Joseph Bulovas would be a redshirt sophomore entering the 2019 season.
