It was the first weekend of high school football for many commits in both Alabama’s 2019 and 2020 classes. Several, including Pierce Quick, Paul Tyson and Rashad Cheney, showcased their talent in a matchup nationally televised on ESPN.
5-star offensive tackle Pierce Quick helped Hewitt-Trussville amass 628 yards of total offense in a 34-30 loss to Cedar Grove.
4-star offensive tackle Amari Kight helped Thompson (AL) generate more than 450 yards of total offense in a 38-7 win over James Clemens (AL).
4-star quarterback Paul Tyson complete 31 of his 47 passes with 447 yards and four touchdowns for Hewitt-Trussville in its loss. Tyson connected with 2020 Alabama commit Dazalin Worsham seven times, two of which went on for scores.

4-star cornerback Christian Williams made a critical play in Daphne’s (AL) 16-13 win over Theodore (AL), blocking a PAT attempt that would have given Theodore the lead heading into the fourth quarter.
4-star defensive tackle Rashad Cheney was a key cog in Cedar Grove’s ability to hold Hewitt-Trussville to just six points in the second half, leading to the Cedar Grove win. While specific stats are not yet available, Cheney recorded at least five tackles and batted down a pass.
4-star defensive tackle DJ Dale did not have any stats available. His team, Clay-Chalkville (AL), notched a 35-20 win over Griffin (GA).
4-star safety DeMarcco Hellams and DeMatha Catholic (MD) were pummeled 38-0 by St. Thomas Aquinas (FL). There were no stats available for Hellams.
4-star outside linebacker King Mwikuta did not have any stats available but did contribute to Troup County’s (GA) dominate defensive effort that resulted in a 32-0 win over Ridgeland (GA).
4-star athlete Brandon Turnage recorded two interceptions — one returned for a touchdown — and several tackles in Lafayette’s (MS) 41-8 victory over Charleston (MS).
4-star defensive end Byron Young did not have any stats available, but he helped West Jones (MS) shutout Northeast Jones (MS) 33-0.
4-star defensive end Kevin Harris made six tackles and a sack in Grayson’s (GA) 48-7 win over Tucker (GA).
4-star defensive end Justin Eboigbe had no stats available. His team, Forest Park (GA), was defeated 28-14 by Morrow (GA).
4-star offensive tackle Tanner Bowles helped Glasgow (KY) record 286 yards of total offense in just the first half of action in a 19-7 win over Bardstown (KY).
4-star tight end Jahleel Billingsly reportedly ran in a touchdown in Phillips Academy’s (IL) 49-18 loss to Pickerington Central (OH). Full statistics for Billingsly’s game are not available.
4-star running back Keilan Robinson trucked defenders in a 49-0 St. John’s College High School (Washington, D.C.) win over Johns Creek (GA). Robinson reportedly scored an 11-yard touchdown on the ground, but complete stats are not yet available. St. Johns is set to play Hoover next week in Alabama.
