Six Alabama commits participated in Thompson’s (AL) rematch against Hewitt-Trussville (AL) in the Class 7A quarterfinals. Find out how those commits and others fared in their high school games this past weekend:

2019 Class

5-star offensive tackle Pierce Quick and the Hewitt-Trussville offense couldn’t get it going in a rematch against Thompson, falling to the Warriors 37-13 in the quarterfinals of the Class 7A playoffs.

4-star offensive tackle Amari Kight helped Thompson amass 267 yards on the ground in its win over Hewitt-Trussville.

4-star quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa completed 11 of his 17 passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns while also adding a 25-yard rushing score in Thompson’s win.

4-star quarterback Paul Tyson completed 13 of his 34 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown in Hewitt-Trussville’s loss.

4-star defensive lineman DJ Dale helped Clay-Chalkville (AL) hold Hartselle (AL) to just 80 yards of total offense in the first three quarters. He also scored on a 2-yard run in the Cougars’ 35-7 win.

4-star safety DeMarcco Hellams had two touchdowns and an interception, but DeMatha Catholic (MD) was defeated on an incredible last-second touchdown throw by Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.), losing 46-43 in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship game.

4-star athlete Brandon Turnage had no stats available. Lafayette (MS) fell 27-20 to West Point (MS).

3-star kicker Will Reichard had no stats available in Hoover’s (AL) 42-17 win over Mountain Brook (AL).

4-star outside linebacker King Mwikuta had no stats available, but Troup County (GA) dominated Pickens County (GA) 53-14.

4-star defensive end Byron Young had no stats available in West Jones’ (MS) 37-14 win over Hattiesburg (MS).

4-star linebacker Kevin Harris and Grayson (GA) advanced to the second round of the playoffs after a 37-17 win over Norcross (GA).

4-star guard Darrian Daclourt and 4-star linebacker Shane Lee had no stats available. St. Frances Academy (MD) decimated West Toronto Prep (CAN) 64-0.

4-star offensive tackle Tanner Bowles and Glasgow (KY) lost 18-14 to Walton-Verona (KY).

4-star defensive end Braylen Ingraham helped St. Thomas Aquinas (FL) shut out Fort Lauderdale (FL) 51-0.

4-star wide receiver Dazalin Worsham and 4-star cornerback Malachi Moore had no stats available in Hewitt-Trussville’s loss.

3-star tight end Caden Clark caught two touchdowns and was utilized as a linebacker in Achbishop Hoban’s (OH) 52-6 thumping of Maple Heights (OH), according to 247Sports.

4-star inside linebacker Jackson Bratton and Muscle Shoals (AL) were defeated 45-21 by Pinson Valley (AL).
