Longtime Crimson Tide commit and 4-star cornerback Christian Williams announced Wednesday morning he will not be signing with Alabama. Instead, the Daphne prospect will be joining Miami’s 2019 recruiting class.
Although Williams, the No. 20 cornerback and No. 160 overall player in the country, had been committed to Alabama since April 2018, it became increasingly likely over the last month he would end up signing elsewhere since the Crimson Tide already signed five defensive backs in the early period.
The five defensive backs Alabama signed include 4-star cornerback Jeffery Carter, 4-star safety Jordan Battle, 4-star safety DeMarcco Hellams, 4-star cornerback Brandon Turnage and 4-star cornerback Marcus Banks.
LSU was also in contention to land Williams.
With the loss of Williams, it is unlikely Alabama signs another defensive back in this recruiting cycle.
