The University of Alabama football program continued to build its future wide receiver corps when Orlando, Fla., four-star prospect Christian Leary committed to the Crimson Tide’s 2021 class.

Alabama had previously received 2021 commitments from Florida standouts Agiye Hall (Valrico) and Jacorey Brooks (Miami Southwestern), both wide receivers.

Leary is ranked as a four-star and the No. 130 prospect in the nation by the 247 Composite rankings.

“First and foremost, I (want to) thank the Man Above for the position he has put me in,” Leary said on his Twitter account. “I wanna thank my Mom, Dad, Uncle and the rest of the family that supported me through it ALL…Proud and blessed to say I will be committing to the University of Alabama.”

The 5-foot-9, 175-pound Leary helped Edgewater High School to a runner-up finish in Florida Class 7A last season. He was also a track standout as a junior, setting a school record with a 10.50-second time for the 100-meter dash in his season-opening meet.

Leary is Alabama’s eighth overall commitment for its 2021 class.
