Alabama fans woke to the shocking news that sophomore wide receiver T.J. Simmons was leaving the University of Alabama football program.

Simmons, a four-star recruit out of Clay-Chalkville High School, caught six passes for 82 yards during the A-Day spring game. He announced the news that he is headed to West Virginia on Twitter.

He is the third Crimson Tide player to leave the program during the offseason, joining defensive lineman O.J. Smith and linebacker Shawn Jennings. His departure puts Alabama at 86 players on its roster. The team must be at 85 scholarship players when fall camp begins.
