The team worked outside on a sunny, hot day in Tuscaloosa when the temperature reached 89 with a feels-like temp of 101. Here is what I saw during the media viewing period.
Offensive line
The offensive line did a lot of tandem work, which focused on staying low. At one point the group was made to do up-downs, which we really don’t see much of in practice. Take that for what it’s worth.
Defensive line
The group working in four-man groups. The first group consisted of Da’Shawn Hand, Da’Ron Payne, Josh Frazier and Raekwon Davis. Keep an eye on Frazier. I’ve heard a couple of positive reports about him lately. The second group featured Isaiah Buggs, Jamar King, Johnny Dwight and Quinnen Williams.
Linebackers
No change with the linebackers, and I didn’t notice anyone who was not there.
Running backs
Josh Jacobs was still not spotted at practice. He is dealing with a hamstring injury. The group worked in the following order: Damien Harris, Bo Scarbrough, Brian Robinson, Najee Harris and Ronnie Clark.
Dime defense
The six defensive backs consisted of Anthony Averett at right corner, Trevon Diggs at left corner, Tony Brown at Star, Minkah Fitzpatrick at Money, Ronnie Harrison and Hootie Jones at safety.
Up next: Nick Saban press conference at approximately 5 p.m.
