Alabama fans and alumni poured into Nashville like they live there. Well, some of them. At least one notable Alabama alumni does live in Nashville.
That would be 2015 Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry. He’s at Vanderbilt Stadium for today’s game on the Alabama sideline.
Henry is in his second year with the Tennessee Titans. He has 20 carries for a team-high 117 yards and one touchdown through the first two games of the season.
He spent most of pregame saying hello to Alabama staffers and current players. The Titans are 1-1 and host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at Nissan Stadium.
Alabama fans appeared to outnumber Vanderbilt fans at the game as of kickoff. The sideline behind Alabama’s team was mostly UA fans in crimson and white until the Vanderbilt student section began. The bowled end zone of the stadium was dominated by Alabama fans, and the Vanderbilt sideline was a mix of the two fan bases.
The sideline below us is closer to a 50/50 split but this half of the stadium is dominated by Alabama fans. pic.twitter.com/AyxGcthtHN
