Alabama landed its second 2018 commitment of the weekend on Sunday afternoon when running back Jerome Ford committed to the Crimson Tide.

Ford (5-11/195) is listed as the No. 14 all-purpose back and the No. 92 prospect in Florida according to the 247Sports composite. He’s a three-star recruit from Armwood High School in Seffner.

He’s the 16th commitment for the 2018 class, bumping Alabama up to No. 7 in the team rankings. Ford is expected to sign on the early signing date on Wednesday. He had 22 offers, including Tennessee and Nebraska.

Ford played receiver and running back this year for his high school team, posting 38 catches for 800 yards and eight touchdowns. He ran for 155 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries.

Alabama commit Slade Bolden is also listed as an all-purpose back in this class, but he may end up playing as a slot receiver for the Crimson Tide.

Alabama also got a commitment from 2018 defensive back Josh Jobe on Saturday. 2019 linebacker King Mwikuta committed on Friday.

This weekend featured several recruits taking their official visits to Alabama as the Crimson Tide began practice for its Sugar Bowl against Clemson.
