Outside linebacker Anfernee Jennings said in a post on Twitter that he’s out for Monday’s College Football Playoff National Championship Game. He sustained a knee injury late in the fourth quarter against Clemson.

Jennings was named one of Alabama’s defensive players of the week on Wednesday by the coaching staff. He had five tackles against Clemson, three of which were for a loss. He also had a sack.

For the season he has 41 tackles, six tackles for loss and a sack. He also has four quarterback hurries, two pass breakups and two forced fumbles. Jennings missed two games earlier this season after suffering an injury in Alabama’s opener against Florida State.

Coach Nick Saban said on Tuesday that the status of right guard Lester Cotton remained uncertain.
