President Donald Trump is scheduled to join the Alabama radio broadcast during the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, The Tuscaloosa News has learned.
The broadcast, syndicated on the Crimson Tide Sports Network, consists of play-by-play announcer Eli Gold and color commentator Phil Savage. The President announced last week that he would attend the game.
Asked Saturday about the prospects of the president attending the game, Alabama coach Nick Saban said it would be an honor.
“You know, look, I have great respect for the office of the President of the United States, and it would be an honor, whoever was in that position, if they chose to come to see the College Football National Championship Game,” Saban.
Trump spent the earlier part of the day in Nashville.
