Alabama will be sending two seniors and a junior to represent the Crimson Tide with coach Nick Saban at SEC media days in Atlanta next week. Senior running back Damien Harris, senior offensive lineman Ross Pierschbacher and junior outside linebacker Anfernee Jennings will be the Alabama players in Atlanta.
They’ll spend Wednesday in Atlanta answering waves of questions, appearing on TV and radio. SEC media days will be in Atlanta this summer after being in Birmingham and Hoover since its inception in 1985. The event has become an annual rite of summer as the college football season draws nearer. Coaches like Les Miles and Steve Spurrier used to make annual headlines with quirky stories or jabs at their rivals. Now it’s a showcase for the SEC’s biggest stars and a chance to start talking football.
Damien Harris

Harris chose to return to Alabama for his senior season after rushing for 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons as a sophomore and junior. He can become the first player in school history to rush for 1,000 yards in three consecutive seasons if he does it this fall. Harris ranks 14th in school history with 2,194 rushing yards on 326 carries, averaging 6.7 yards per carry for his career. He has 14 career rushing touchdowns, 11 of which came in 2017.
Ross Pierschbacher

Pierschbacher is a three-year starter who has helped push Alabama to three straight national championship games. He has started 43 games in his career, beginning as Alabama’s left guard in 2015. He moved to right guard for part of the 2016 season and spent most of spring practice working at center to replace Bradley Bozeman. He was a first-team All-SEC pick by the league media.
Anfernee Jennings

Injuries limited Jennings’ 2017 season, but he was still a key player on Alabama’s defense. He finished the year with 41 tackles and six tackles for loss in 11 games. He also had one sack, four quarterback hurries and forced four fumbles. Jennings injured his ankle in Alabama’s opener against Florida State but returned against Vanderbilt after missing two games. He missed the national championship game after suffering a knee injury against Clemson.
