Alabama remained atop the College Football Rankings on Tuesday when the third weekly edition for the 2018 season was released.

The Crimson Tide came in at No. 1, as it had the previous two weeks, after defeating a ranked Mississippi State team last weekend to improve to 10-0. The Bulldogs came in ranked 21st this week, falling five spots.

Alabama also has a victory over LSU, which is ranked seventh.

UA has now been ranked No. 1 in the CFP rankings 15 times in the 28 weekly rankings releases since the system was implemented in 2014.

Clemson is ranked No. 2, followed by Notre Dame and Michigan to round out the top four. Oklahoma is ranked No. 6.

If the current rankings were to hold for the rest of the way, Alabama would play Michigan in one semifinal, with Clemson facing Notre Dame in the other. The College Football Playoff semifinals will be played Dec. 29 in the Cotton Bowl and Orange Bowl. The winners will advance to the championship game Jan. 7 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

UA has regular-season games remaining against The Citadel on Saturday and Auburn next weekend. Alabama has already secured a spot in the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 1 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta in a rematch of last year’s national title game. The Bulldogs are ranked No. 5.

Other ranked SEC teams were Florida at No. 13 and Kentucky at No. 17.
