Defensive lineman Raekwon Davis will return to Alabama for his senior season, he announced on Twitter on Wednesday night. He made his decision public with a post to his Twitter account, @raekwondavis_99.

Davis finished the 2018 season with 55 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. He also added six quarterback hurries.

He entered the season as one of Alabama’s top defensive prospects after breaking out during his sophomore season. He had 69 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and finished fifth in the SEC with 8.5 sacks in 2017. Some early mock drafts had him pegged as a potential first round pick, but he didn’t equal those numbers.

Junior cornerback Trevon Diggs also posted a message on Twitter earlier in the day indicating he planned to return. Diggs was a starter at cornerback before a broken foot against Arkansas ended his season early.

The deadline for underclassmen to enter the 2019 NFL draft is Monday, January 14.
