The University of Alabama softball team heads into this week’s SEC tournament dropping one spot in both polls. Alabama (40-15) ranks No. 15 in the USA Today/NFCA poll and No. 16 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll. Both polls were released Tuesday.
Alabama is ranked No. 14 in the NCAA RPI, released Monday. That ranking helps determine postseason selection.
Ten SEC teams are ranked among the top 25. SEC regular season champion Florida tops the nation, holding down the No. 1 spot in both polls. Auburn ranks No. 7 USA Today/No. 8 NFCA, Tennessee (9/7), Texas A&M (11/11), Alabama (15/16), Kentucky (18/18), Ole Miss (19/19), LSU (21/21), South Carolina (24/23) and Georgia (25/RV). Mississippi State, Arkansas and Missouri are receiving votes.
