HOOVER – Susan West of Tuscaloosa is defending her title in the Alabama Women’s State Senior Amateur Championship Oct. 25-27. Grayson Valley Country Club in Birmingham will host for the second time in its history. West won the championship in 2015 and 2016.
Twenty-five players are scheduled to compete in the 45th edition of this championship over 54 holes of stroke play.
The championship was first played in 1973 with Ceil Watkins winning the inaugural event. Mary Isbell holds the record with eight victories (1995-1999, 2001-2003).
