WILMINGTON, N.C. – After Friday’s opening round, the Alabama women’s golf team is in second place, one shot off the lead, at 10-under par at The Landfall Tradition at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C. Duke leads the field at 11-under par 277.
Three Crimson Tide golfers finished the round in the top 10, led by Lauren Stephenson, who fired a 5-under par 67 and is in second place, one shot in back of individual leader Ana Belac of Duke, who finished with a tournament record 66 in her opening round. Kristen Gillman (69) is in a tie for fifth after a bogey-free 3-under par round. Cheyenne Knight carded a 2-under par 70 and is tied for eighth place. Lakareber Abe shot an even-par 72 and is tied for 20th. Angelica Moresco (75) is 3-over par and tied for 47th. Nicole Morales is playing unattached and is tied for 27th at 1-over par after a first round 73.
