CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Alabama rowing closed its weekend at the Head of the Hooch regatta Sunday, as all five Crimson Tide crews in the Women’s Open 8+ finished in the top 10, including gold and bronze medals.
The Crimson Tide’s gold medal crew in the Open 8+ crossed the line 30 seconds ahead of second-place Clemson with a time of 17:18.41 and Alabama’s third-place boat finished with a time of 18:07.15. The Tide rounded out the event finishing sixth (18:34.51), ninth (19:11.29) and tenth (19:25.24).
Alabama’s five top-10 finishes Sunday brings the weekend’s total to 13, including one gold medal, one silver and two bronze over three events including Sunday’s Open 8+ and Saturday’s Championship 8+ and Championship 2x.
The Tide will close out its fall season on Saturday in Tuscaloosa, racing against Central Florida.
