ATLANTA – The University of Alabama swimming and diving team closed out the Georgia Tech Invitational on Saturday with four individual wins and one relay title
In the women’s 1,650 freestyle, Mia Nonnenberg finished first (16:23.62) and Alexis Preski was second (16:27.89). Alabama also went 1-2 in the men’s 100 freestyle with Robert Howard winning (41.96) and Zane Waddell coming in second (42.68). Christopher Reid won the men’s 200 backstroke (1:41.74), and Justine Macfarlane won the women’s 200 breaststroke (2:09.58). The men’s 400 freestyle relay team won in 2:50.46 and included Laurent Bams, Waddell, Reid and Howard. With that win, the Alabama men went a perfect five-for-five in relays over the weekend and have won every relay race of the season.
