Alabama softball’s Alexis Osorio was named to the Preseason All-SEC Team, announced Wednesday by the league office following a vote from the conference’s 13 head coaches.

The Riverside, Calif., native made All-America for the second time last season as a junior after leading the Crimson Tide with 23 wins, a 1.21 ERA and 334 strikeouts, averaging 1.65 strikeouts per inning. Her 334 strikeouts led the SEC, ranked fifth nationally and is the fourth-highest single season total in program history. Her 1.21 ERA also ranks fourth in program history.

Alabama opens the 2018 season Thursday, Feb. 8 against South Alabama in Mobile.
