The Alabama gymnastics team remains at No. 7 in the latest rankings. It holds an average score of a 196.539 and a high score of a 197.075. Over the weekend, Alabama defeated Kentucky, 196.925 to 196.375, at home in Coleman Coliseum.
Oklahoma, LSU and UCLA are at the top of the rankings. Their averages are 197.638, 197.481 and 197.357, respectively.
As for each event, the Crimson Tide is now ranked fourth on the uneven bars (49.293), 10th on the balance beam (49.071), 13th on the floor exercise (49.157) and 17th on the vault (49.018). Vault jumped five spots and bars moved up two. Beam and floor both dropped down one.
Up next, Alabama travels to No. 16 Auburn on Friday. The Tigers are coming off a home victory over Rutgers and have a 196.019 average and a 197 high. This will be the first of two meets between Alabama and Auburn. The second will be on March 9 in Huntsville at the Von Braun Center for the in-state rivals’ annual Elevate the Stage meet in neutral territory.
