The Alabama rowing team opened its spring season with a convincing win against Eastern Michigan on Saturday, sweeping the Eagles over 16 separate 1,000-meter pieces on the Black Warrior River.
The Crimson Tide’s First Varsity 8+, ‘The Battle Ship’ crew crossed the line in 3:41.99. Alabama’s second 1V8+ crew, ‘Cashman’ had a time of 3:45.9.
The Crimson Tide raced one crew in the First Varsity 4+, with ‘ Moxie’ winning all four sessions, with its fastest time of 4:24.01 in the first session. Alabama raced two crews in the Second Varsity 4+, with ‘Yellow Hammer’ winning all four with its fastest time of 4:21.6 in the first session.
