Alabama gymnast Lexi Graber has been named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Graber won the all-around against North Carolina last Friday in Coleman Coliseum with a career-high 39.55. During that performance, Graber also tied her career-best scores on the uneven bars and balance beam with a pair of 9.9s. She posted matching 9.85s on the vault and floor exercise, too. It was just her second time competing all-around and floor. The floor score was another new high. She has competed in all but one meet this season.
She’s the first Alabama freshman to earn the honor this season. She leads the UA freshmen with 23 routines in competition and has scored 9.85 or higher in 14 routines.
Alabama competes against Auburn in the fourth-annual Elevate the Stage meet Friday at 7 p.m. at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
