SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of Alabama track and field teams wrapped up action at the University of Texas San Antonio Invitational on Saturday with victories in the men’s and women’s 100 meters and the men’s and women’s pole vault.
Symone Darius won the women’s 100 meters in 11.46 as Alabama took four of the top five spots. Takyera Roberson (11.58) finished third, Olivia Fotopoulou (11.59) fourth, and Demi Washington (11.72) placed fifth. Washington, Krystal Sparling, Fotopoulou and Roberson finished second in the 4×100-meter relay in 44.98.
Britainy Smith won the pole vault with a clearance of 12-9 ½. Colleen Clancy finished second at 12-5 ½.
Jake Spotswood won the men’s pole vault with a clearance of 17-3 ½, and Will Herrscher (16-11 ½) finished second. Jarez Parks made his collegiate debut and finished third in discus with a throw of 168-7.
Keitavious Walter won the 100 meters in 10.15, and Alize Ford finished third in 10.37.
