FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The seventh-ranked Alabama men’s golf team is in second place and golfer Davis Shore is in a tie for first among individuals after 36 holes played at the 2018 Mason Rudolph Championship at the Vanderbilt Legends Club South Course on Friday. The Crimson Tide opened with a 7-over par 291 and followed with a 3-under par 281 in the second round to finish at 4-over 572.
Alabama, one of only two teams in the field to shoot a below par round Friday, trails clubhouse leader and No. 46-ranked Liberty. Liberty is at 2-over par 570.
Shore is in a tie for first overall at 3-under 139 (72-67). Wilson Furr is in a tie for seventh at 1-over 143 (70-73). Jonathan Hardee (72-73) and Davis Riley (77-68) both carded a 3-over 145 and are tied for 10th. Two Alabama players are competing unattached. Tyler Hitchner (71-76/147) and Steven Setterstrom (74-74/148) are tied for 18th and 21st, respectively.
