GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Ruebin Walters and Keitavious Walter turned in two of top times in the country this season in the 110-meter hurdles and 100 meters at the Tom Jones Invitational on Friday. The University of Alabama track and field teams are competing in the University of Florida’s meet this weekend.
Walters finished second in the hurdles with a time of 13.31, second-fastest in school. In the 100 meters, Walter was the No. 2 collegiate finisher (10.12). Other winners for the Crimson Tide men were Shelby McEwen in high jump (7-1 ¾) and Elliott Miller in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:24.53).
Tamara Clark won the women’s 200 meters in 22.57. Kaitlin Walker (58.34) finished second among collegiate women in 400-meter hurdles. Portious Warren was the No. 2 collegiate finisher in shot put with a mark of 55-5 ¾. Britainy Smith won the pole vault with a clearance of 13-3 ½.
In the relays, Clark, Daija Lampkin, Symone Darius and Takyera Roberson produced the top collegiate finish in the 4×100-meter relay in 43.26. The quartet finished second among collegians in the 4×400 meter relay with a time of 3:34.37.
