FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Alabama softball team dropped game two of its weekend series to Arkansas, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at Bogle Park.
Alabama (26-12, 7-7 SEC) fell behind in the second inning after Arkansas (32-9, 7-7 SEC) scored a pair of runs, despite not posting a hit. The Razorbacks’ first hit came in the bottom of the third and its second came soon after, an RBI double that made it 3-0.
The Crimson Tide had the tying run to the plate in the top of the seventh but Arkansas held on to earn the shutout victory and even the weekend series.
Each team tallied four hits and each starting pitcher went the distance, with Mary Haff (19-3) earning the win and junior Courtney Gettins (10-3) taking the loss.
Haff allowed four hits with nine strikeouts and no walks while Gettins allowed four hits with three strikeouts and two walks.
Sydney Booker, Peyton Grantham, KB Sides, and Gabby Calloway had the Crimson Tide hits.
The series rubber game is set for a 1 p.m. CT start on Sunday.
