ATHENS, Ga. – Juniors Cheyenne Knight and Lauren Stephenson shared individual medalist honors and as the the Alabama women’s golf team cruised to its third tournament victory of the season, winning the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic at the par-72, 6,300-yard University of Georgia Golf Club in Athens, Ga., on Saturday.

Alabama (276-286-287/849) jumped to a 12-shot lead after two rounds on Friday and finished at 1-under par in Saturday’s final round for a 15-under par weekend to take home the team title. Arkansas (290-284-291/865) and Duke (292-288-285/865) shared second place, 16 shots back, at 1-over. Host Georgia (290-295-286/871) finished fourth at 7-over. Baylor (289-299-292/880) was fifth at 16-over.

Knight (65-71-73/209) and Stephenson (71-69-69/209) finished at 7-under to tie for individual medalist honors.

Kristen Gillman (70-71-72/213) tied for sixth at 3-under. Angelica Moresco (70-75-73/218) tied for 14th at 2-over. Lakareber Abe (76-79-79/234) tied for 50th at 18-over. Nicole Morales (74-75-77/226) played unattached and finished tied for 33rd at 10-over.
