The Alabama men’s track & field team remains No. 3, while the Crimson Tide women moved up six spots to No. 17 in the latest U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) outdoor rankings released Monday.

Alabama’s Daniel Haugh set a school record in the hammer throw to highlight a seven-victory day for the Crimson Tide at the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge, La., on April 28.

Haugh won the hammer with a school record mark of 241-2 (73.50m). The junior bettered the previous UA record by seven feet and is the first man to surpass 240 feet in the event in Alabama history.

For the Tide women, junior Portious Warren was the top collegiate finisher in the shot put with a mark of 55-3 ¾ (16.86m). The effort ranks No. 6 all-time at Alabama and is Warren’s sixth top-10 school mark in the event this season.

Next up are the 2018 Southeastern Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, May 11-13, in Knoxville, Tenn.
