STILLWATER, Okla. – In its first match-play clash at the NCAA Championship, the Alabama women’s golf team didn’t show any signs of nerves.

The Crimson Tide quickly dismantled Kent State, defeating the Golden Flashes 4-1 to advance to Tuesday afternoon’s match-play semifinals. Alabama will face Southern California, which toppled Duke 3.5-1.5 in its quarterfinal bout.

Alabama junior Lauren Stephenson quickly got a point with her 3 and 2 victory in the first pairing. Shortly after, freshman Angelica Moresco tallied another point, winning 5 and 3. Kristen Gillman finished her match on No. 17, winning 2 and 1 and securing the match for Alabama.

The Crimson Tide and Trojans face off at 1:30 p.m. for a chance to advance to the national championship match, which begins at 2:25 p.m. on Wednesday. Tuesday’s semifinal round is live on Golf Channel at 3 p.m.
